The Business School Experience Print
Monday, 29 March 2010, 10:00 - 15:30

Venue: University of Greenwich Maritime Campus

Over one hundred students and tutors from SELLLN partner colleges joined ambassadors, SELLLN and University of Greenwich staff for the Business School Experience. The event was held on Monday 29th March 2010 at the picturesque Greenwich Maritime Campus. An exciting programme included a taster lecture, a talk on the benefits of higher education and applying through UCAS, and a choice of morning and afternoon workshops:

  • Up all night - Running a Night club
  • Business Risk in the Travel and Tourism Business
  • Let's Get Personal - Personal Money and Business Finance
  • IT lab - SimVenture Business Simulation - Enterprise
  • Can you argue? Can you cooperate?  Negotiation
  • Move-it and shift my load - Teams and solving problems

Students were supported by ambassadors from the University of Greenwich Business School, who provided an insight into student life and offered guided tours of the campus. The event underpins a suite of progression agreements with the Business School, and has now run for two years.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, and the workshops were a resounding success. Students described the event as 'well organised, the activities were enjoyable' and 'very entertaining', and commented that the student ambassadors 'were very helpful. They were enthusiastic and knowledgeable'.

SELLLN would like to say a big thank you to Tim Barry and colleagues at the University of Greenwich Business School for all their hard work in supporting this event and SELLLN's progression agreements.
