The Diploma in Business, Administration and Finance (BAF) – Sharing Good Practice event
23 April 2010

Held in Henriette Raphael House, Guy’s Campus, King’s College London, this event was originally aimed at SELLLN partners, but attracted well over 40 delegates from all over England despite many cancellations due to the volcanic ash travel disruption.

The programme included sessions on Employer Engagement, Student Induction, Workforce Support, Careers in Financial Services, Accounting and Finance, Curriculum Development and HE Progression. Sharing good practice workshops covered Projects, Applied Learning, Employer Engagement and Curriculum Development.  Advanced BAF Diploma Students Jordan and Sam from North Hertfordshire College stole the day with a question and answer session on the student experience with the BAF. They also participated in the sharing good practice Workshop sessions, which delegates were reluctant to finish. Feedback from the event was very positive.

LSBU SELLLN Open Day
7 May 2010

This event took place in the Keyworth Centre of London South Bank University. An exciting programme included a welcome from Michael Knight, Head of Department, Accounting and Finance, a general introduction to the university by Programme Director Anne-Marie Scott and campus tours by experienced student ambassadors. Students then had the choice of attending Level 4 style sessions on Accounting and Finance, Business Studies, Management, Marketing and Computing. Mary Lawrence, Director of Strategy & Recruitment, finished the day with a session on SELLLN Progression Agreements and What Next? Initial feedback from the 80 plus students and tutors who attended was enthusiastic and supportive of similar future activity. This event underpins the suite of Business related and Computing progression agreements recently negotiated with LSBU and SELLLN partner colleges.
